Who we are

Homeschool Frontier is a homeschool resource website. Our website is located at homeschoolfrontier.com.

We're homeschooling parents, not a corporation. We take your privacy seriously because we're parents too — we don't want anyone collecting data on our family unnecessarily, and we extend that same respect to yours.

What data we collect

Information you give us directly

Currently, Homeschool Frontier does not collect personal information through forms or accounts. If and when we add features like an email newsletter or contact form, this policy will be updated before those features go live.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server and any analytics tools we use may automatically receive basic technical information when you visit:

  • Your browser type and version
  • Your device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region — not your address)
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • The website or link that referred you here
  • Date and time of your visit

Note: We do not currently use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics platform. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where possible, use privacy-respecting tools that minimize data collection.

Information from affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase on a third-party site (like Amazon), that site collects information according to its own privacy policy. We receive only aggregate commission data — we never see your name, address, or payment information from those transactions.

How we use your data

Any data we collect is used only to:

  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
  • Diagnose technical problems
  • Respond to contact messages you send us
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build profiles or target you with ads.

Third parties & services

Running a website requires some third-party services. Here's what we may use and why:

Service Purpose Their Privacy Policy
Web hosting provider Serving the website to your browser Varies by provider
Amazon Associates Affiliate link tracking Amazon Privacy
Google Fonts Typography (fonts loaded from Google's CDN) Google Privacy
Email service provider Newsletter delivery (if/when we launch one) To be specified when added

We do not run display advertising networks at this time. If we add ads in the future, we will update this policy with full details about any ad networks and their data practices.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Here's our current use:

  • Essential cookies: We may use minimal cookies necessary for the site to function (e.g., remembering a dismissed notice). These cannot be turned off.
  • Analytics cookies: We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we add analytics, we will update this section.
  • Affiliate cookies: When you click an affiliate link, the destination site (e.g., Amazon) may place cookies in your browser according to their own cookie policy.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Note that blocking certain cookies may affect your experience on other websites.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data. Regardless of your location, we commit to the following:

  • Access: You can ask us what personal information we hold about you
  • Deletion: You can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: You can ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Opt-out: You can opt out of any email communications at any time

Since we currently collect minimal personal data, most of these rights may not apply in practice — but the offer stands. Email us at any time and we'll respond promptly.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

Children's privacy

Homeschool Frontier is a resource for parents and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

While our content discusses homeschooling children, it is directed at the adults making educational decisions — not at the children themselves.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when we add new features (like analytics, an email list, or ads) that change how we collect or use data. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

For significant changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify regular visitors — though given the current minimal data collection, most updates will simply add clarity as the site grows.
